  1. Are courses needed for adult education licensure offered?
    Yes, these courses will still be offered as part of the online program.
    For information concerning teacher licensure, students should contact Kathy Malstrom at (479) 575-6740.
  2. Are courses available to non-degree seeking students?
    Non-degree seeking students may enroll in courses, but degree-seeking students have priority enrollment. In addition, only degree-seeking students are eligible for financial aid.
  3. What are the computer hardware requirements for online courses? Skill requirements?
    To determine the minimum hardware and software requirements, as well as skill requirements for a distance education course, click here.
  4. What technical support will be available?

  5. Where can I get a copy of the Graduate Catalog?
    The current undergraduate and graduate catalogs of study are located at: http://www.uark.edu/depts/gradinfo/recruit/catalog/index.html
    Students can also request a graduate catalog (in the form of a CD or in paperback) from the Graduate School by calling (479) 575-6246.
  6. Where can students find course descriptions?
    Course descriptions can be found in the Graduate Catalog: http://www.uark.edu/depts/gradinfo/recruit/catalog/index.html
    Descriptions of Adult Education (ADED), Vocational Education (VOED), and Vocational and Adult Education (VAED) courses can be found under their respective headings.
  7. What will the cost of the entire program be?
    Due to the possibility of tuition increases, it is difficult to say with any degree of certainty what the cost of the entire program will be. In order to find out what the cost per credit hour will be for the upcoming semester, go to the Off-Campus Student Guide located on the Division of Continuing Education's Web site at: http://www.uacted.uark.edu/CreditStudies/csOffCampus/registration.htm
  8. How do students get textbooks?
    To obtain textbooks, students must order them through the University Bookstore at (479) 575-3010. Students must provide the course name and number (ex. VOED 1013 Sec 1), a street address (the bookstore will not ship to a P.O. Box), and a credit card number. Textbooks typically ship within three business days.
  9. Can students be admitted for the spring semester?
    Yes, the department will accept new admits for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  10. Is there a discount for students 60 years of age and older?
    Yes, on a space-available basis.
  11. How do I determine the courses to take?
    When you are admitted to the program, you will be assigned an advisor who is a faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources, and Communication Disorders. You should work closely with that advisor to structure and plan your program of study.
