The Workforce Development Education faculty considers the following six factors in deciding whether to admit an applicant to the program:
Admission to a graduate program is a three-step process. To be admitted into the program, the prospective student is advised to do the following:
Apply for Admission to the University of Arkansas Graduate School:
Deadlines: The University should receive all application materials, including all official transcripts, at least one month prior to the date of the departmental interview (described later in this process). The Graduate School will not forward these materials to the department until the packet is complete.
Complete the online application for admission from the Graduate School.
Be certain to designate your Intended Area of Study on the application form:
Workforce Development Education (Ed.D.--WDED)
If you would prefer to download and print a paper copy of the application, please click here.
Request that two copies each of all official transcript(s) from every institution you have attended be sent directly to you in a sealed envelope.
Send Application Fee ($40 check or money order payable to the University of Arkansas; $50 for international students) to the Graduate School.
All three items (with the exception of the Application for Admission if it is completed online) must be sent in one packet to the Graduate School at:
Graduate and International Admissions
747 W. Dickson St. #8
Fayetteville, AR 72701
Once all admissions materials have been received by Graduate Admissions, applicants can expect to receive notice from the Graduate School in approximately two to three weeks by mail or e-mail. If you have not heard back within three weeks of submission of application, please contact the Graduate School Admissions office at (479) 575-6246.
NOTE: Admission to the Graduate School DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION INTO THE PROGRAM THAT CONFERS THE DEGREE.
Take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
For information on testing locations and times, go to Educational Testing Services at:
When taking the GRE the test-taker will have the opportunity to designate to whom the scores should be sent. The identification number for the University of Arkansas is 6866. These scores will then be sent to the Graduate School by ETS, and a copy will be sent from the Graduate School to the department for which the student is applying.
The department will consider applicants with the following Graduate Record Examination scores:
1000 combined scores of verbal and quantitative, and 4.0 on analytical writing
For those who have taken the exam already, original scores can be obtained from Educational Testing Services. Note that scores must be no more than 5 years old.
